These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ParentLocal mobile application ("App") and associated services ("Services"). By accessing or using ParentLocal, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using ParentLocal, you confirm that:

  1. You are at least 18 years old, or you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian if under 18.

  2. You agree to abide by these Terms and our Community Guidelines.

2. Services Provided

ParentLocal helps users discover local parenting resources, events, and recommendations, and facilitates connections with other parents.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any content or recommendations provided by users.

3. Account Registration and Responsibility

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

  • Notify us immediately at hello@parentlocal.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. User-Generated Content

You may upload, post, or share content, including reviews, recommendations, and comments (“User Content”).

Content Ownership:

  • You retain ownership of your User Content.

  • By submitting User Content, you grant ParentLocal a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, modify, and distribute the content as part of the Services.

Prohibited Content:
You agree not to upload content that:

  • Is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or offensive.

  • Violates any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

  • Contains viruses, spam, or unauthorized advertising.

ParentLocal reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms or Community Guidelines.

5. Limitation of Liability

ParentLocal is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

  • We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on its content.

6. Modifications to the Terms

ParentLocal may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of significant changes, and your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Williamsburg, Virginia.
